Fashpolitico usually goes out of her way to be nice about people on this blog. Partly because hate and anger on the internet is a bit of a bore, partly because Fashpolitico knows she needs to work with the political world in her day job – it’s never wise to be rude.
But this post, I’m afraid, has to be an exception. Imagine the scene – it’s the film premier of the political bio-pic of the year, the Iron Lady. Fashpolitico has already read endless column inches on Margaret Thatcher’s style, the film, Meryl Streep, in short, she is hooked.
So looking at the photos of the glamorous premier seemed like a good idea. And what could be more exciting, for a Conservative Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport than attending this premier? (OK, I know the Olympics may feature a little higher on the excitement level in 2012, but this is still big.)
Well clearly it was not that exciting after all, judging by this outfit. Fashpolitico only hopes that the Olympics proves to be an occasion for dressing up.
